  • A customer’s electric bill cannot be reduced past $0. However, any excess credits produced by the solar panel system will be rolled over and applied to the next month’s bill.

  • Any excess credits remaining at the end of the year expire, and do not roll over to the next year.

  • The solar panel system must meet all required safety standards and regulations.

  • The solar panel system must be inspected and approved prior to the system being turned on.

  • The owner of the solar panel system will receive written approval of interconnection from TEC.

Gulf Power Co.

  • The owner of the solar panel system must complete and submit all required documents prior to the installation of the solar panel system.

  • There are different requirements for interconnection depending on the tier of the solar panel.

There are three tiers for solar panel systems depending on the solar panel system size.

  • Tier 1 – Systems of 10 kW or less.

  • Tier 2 – Systems greater than 10 kW and less than or equal to 100 kW.

  • Tier 3 – Systems of greater than 100 kW and less than or equal to 2 MW.
