Everything You Need to Know About the National Solar Tour 2020

national solar tour 2020

If you’re considering switching to rooftop solar power or maybe you already have solar energy powering your home, the National Solar Tour is the perfect event to experience the full-scope of solar energy across the United States.

However, this year’s event comes with a big change.

In response to COVID-19, the National Solar Tour 2020 is going entirely virtual. It’s a responsible, engaging alternative that ensures that no amount of social distance will keep you from seeing just how much solar energy can do.

During this year’s all-virtual home Solar Tour, you’ll see a wide variety of applications for solar energy, have the opportunity to ask questions and, in the process, you’ll meet a number of homeowners whose solar systems make them wish they would have switched to solar sooner.

A SHOWCASE OF SOLAR ENERGY

If you currently have solar energy or are considering a switch to solar, Solar Tour is an opportunity to hear actual homeowner testimonials, share real experiences, gather comprehensive insights about the state of solar technology and see homeowner solar systems live and in action.

Given that this year’s home Solar Tour is all virtual, the event will feature several open houses and tours of solar-powered homes, schools, businesses, municipal buildings and even solar-powered vehicles.

WHEN IS THE NATIONAL SOLAR TOUR 2020?

Solar Tour is a week-long event; taking place September 28th to October 4th. Over the course of this virtual, nationwide event, hundreds of solar owners will show off their solar homes and businesses in a series of programs and demonstrations.

Solar owners and attendees interested in solar will connect with one another, share stories, exchange questions and answers and participate in virtual solar experiences.

TAKE PART IN THE LARGEST GRASSROOTS RENEWABLE ENERGY EVENT

The National Solar Tour 2020 is organized and supported by Solar United Neighbors and the American Solar Energy Society. Each year, the National Solar Tour stands out as the nation’s largest grassroots renewable energy event in the nation.

Well-known across the United States, the National Solar Tour exists to amplify the power of solar energy and to illustrate its impact across a variety of use cases — from homes and small businesses to municipalities and large-scale corporate enterprises.

Even though this year’s event is virtual, Solar Tour remains a dynamic event to actively demonstrate the power of solar energy through the perspective of solar owners in the community.

HOST A HOME SOLAR TOUR VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE

While the National Solar Tour is a virtual experience in 2020, homeowners who have solar energy are invited to host open houses through a self-created series of photo albums or video tours.

Together with other solar homes, businesses and institutions, the power of solar energy will be on full display.

When you create your own virtual solar tour, you’ll demonstrate to guests all the reasons why your switch to solar was the right decision. And maybe you’ll convince them to switch in the process.

USE THE NATIONAL SOLAR TOUR TO GET REFERRALS

national home solar tourIt’s one thing to be proud of your Sunpro solar system, but it’s another when impressed Solar Tour attendees turn into referrals that pay for the very system you’re showing off.

If an attendee or group of attendees likes what they see in your solar setup, the Sunpro Referral App makes it easy to send them to Sunpro and establish a connection that could potentially cover your own solar costs.

Simply put, it pays to put on a good show in your virtual solar tour. With Sunpro’s Referral App, you can earn $35 for each qualified friend and as much as $1535 with each referral that decides to go solar.

If you haven’t yet signed up for the Sunpro Referral App, here’s how.
