Arkansas Advanced Energy Association Honors Legislative Champions

Arkansas Advanced Energy Association

Recently, solar news has been exciting for the state of Arkansas and the Arkansas solar industry. With the signing of legislature such as Bill 145 and Bill 1636, the Arkansas solar industry is quickly growing throughout the Natural State.

These are both important bills for the Arkansas solar industry. Bill 145 allowed for third party leasing, and increased size in solar power systems. Meanwhile, Bill 1636 made it easier for government entities to take advantage of the state’s Energy Performance Contracting Program, which allows them to make government buildings more energy efficient. These great advancements will not only increase solar jobs and help the solar market, but will positively affect the state’s entire economy.

The Arkansas Advanced Energy Association (AAEA for short) has been watching closely and celebrating the efforts by these legislators. They will be recognized by the AAEA as “Champions of Advanced Energy” for their key leadership rolls on priority bills. The AAEA plans to honor these members of the 92nd General Assembly at a reception in Little Rock on May 16th including Senators Lance Eads, Keith Ingram, Jason Rapert, and Dave Wallace, and Representatives Rick Beck, and Aaron Pilkington

“Advanced energy technologies are an economic driver for the state,” said AAEA Executive Director Katie Neibaum. “Thanks to the engagement and effective leadership of these legislators, more Arkansans will reap the benefits of advanced energy solutions and advanced energy jobs will continue to grow. AAEA members are grateful to these members of the General Assembly.”
