Installing Kansas Solar Panels

The state of Kansas is known for many things. The first female mayor in the U.S. was elected here. It’s the home of the original Pizza Hut. It’s where helium was first discovered. It was the birthplace of Emelia Earhart. It’s also got an average of 230 sunny days per year, lots of wide open spaces, and tons of potential for Kansas solar panels.

Kansas solar panels are a great thing for homes and businesses alike. They not only help save the environment, but also increase people’s savings. And with Sunpro Solar’s excellent warranties and guarantees, plus the 26% Federal Solar Tax Credit, now is the time to make the switch to solar.

Solar panels are very appealing, and they’re more affordable now than ever. And thanks to all the savings they generate, they typically pay for themselves within a few years. That means that you get profit for decades. And thanks to the Kansas solar available incentives, it’s never been simpler to install solar panels on your home and business.

A few of the solar incentives available for Kansas are:

  • 26% Federal Solar Tax Credit
  • Net Metering
  • Kansas Property Tax Exemption

26% Federal Solar Tax Credit

The federal government knows that renewable energy is going to be a big source of electricity in the future. That’s why they instituted the 26% Federal Solar Tax Credit for people looking to go solar. Taking advantage of this incentive can give you 26% of the total cost of your solar panels back in tax credits, including the cost of installation. And on top of that, if you don’t use all your tax credits in one year, they just roll right over to the next.

But please be sure to keep in mind that the tax credits only remains at 26% through December 31st, 2020. Starting January 1st, 2021, it’s reduced to a 22% tax credit. In 2022, it won’t be available for residential solar panels at all! So be sure to act quickly to take full advantage of this awesome incentive.Sunpro Solar Instal

Net Metering for Kansas Solar Panels

If you’re looking for a way to get the maximum value out of your solar panels, net metering is the way to go. It works like this: you install solar energy panels on your home. Your solar panels will produce electricity which your home will use. When your solar panels produce more electricity than your home needs, your excess electricity will be sent to your utility company’s electric grid. Your utility company will then credit you for your excess electricity. That means greater monthly savings for you.

While Kansas electric coops and municipal electric providers are not required to offer net metering, all other electric utility companies are. And many coops and municipal providers offer net metering in some form.

Property Tax Exemption for Kansas Solar Panels

Not only do solar panels save you money, but they also add value to your home. On average, solar panels add $20 of value for every $1 you save on your electric bill. So if you saved $200 a month on your electric bill with solar panels, you’d have an additional $4,000 of value added to your home.

But if you’re worried about increased property taxes as a result of this added value, worry not! In the great state of Kansas, solar panels are completely property tax exempt. So you get to enjoy all the value without having to pay anything more.
