This solar festival is an annual celebration of renewable energy and energy efficiency, but that’s not all we were celebrating this year. This year, Solar Fest was also an official Tercentennial Event! 300 years ago in 1718, the Mission San Antonio de Valero was established. Today, it’s become the beautiful and vibrant city of San Antonio. At Solar Fest we appreciated the past, and we also looked forward to a bright future with solar power.
Solar Fest, which took place in Hemisfair Park this year, featured a ton of local vendors such as Sunpro Solar. At our Sunpro Solar booth, we were able to share our knowledge on solar energy, solar panels, and the benefits that making the switch to renewable energy can bring you. The event was completely free, and open to the public. During the festival, there was a variety of delicious food trucks, live music, local artisans, and fun activities to enjoy.
This event is put on each year by Build San Antonio Green, or BSAG. BSAG is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to build awareness and interest among builders and homeowners in resource-efficient building methods, materials, and technologies. It was great to see so many people and their families come to support this goal, and have fun learning more about sustainable energy like solar power.
We at Sunpro Solar were happy to be able to attend this fantastic event, and look forward to the Solar Fest next year!
